Amos Construction is a Wairarapa building company with its own team of qualified builders. We build new homes and take on alterations, renovations, decks and fences for domestic and light commercial clients across the Wairarapa and Tararua Region.
We are a Registered Master Builders member, in the Wairarapa branch. Because we run our own tip truck and small digger, the groundwork for a build can be done by the same company that builds on it, so the site is prepared with the next stage of the job in mind.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a building consent for a deck or a fence?
Not always. Under Schedule 1 of the Building Act 2004, a deck from which nobody could fall more than 1.5 metres, even if it collapsed, and a fence up to 2.5 metres high need no building consent, though both must still meet the Building Code and a new pool fence needs one. Building.govt.nz lists the work you can do without a building consent, and your district plan can still apply: Carterton and Masterton District Councils say that a boundary fence over 1.8 metres generally needs a resource consent. Can you help with an insurance repair?
Yes. We are contracted by two leading insurance companies for assessments, repairs and investigations, and insurance repair work is part of what we do across Wairarapa.
Can I hire your tip truck or digger on their own?
Yes. Our tip truck and digger hire is available as a standalone service or as part of a wider building project. Tell us about your project, site access and timing and we will give you a clear quote.
